Autumn Skincare

As the seasons change and the weather becomes colder, it's important to adjust your skincare routine to these new temperatures. Here's our guide to maintaining your skin inside and out...

Soft Skin this Autumn!

It's no surprise that in the winter months your skin becomes more dry and agitated. Exfoliating your body regularly helps keep skin smooth as you brush away dead skin cells; why not try our Dry Body Brush with our Firming and Toning Lotion for extra smooth results.

Dry brushing is perfect for exfoliating dry or problem skin, it helps detoxify by increasing blood circulation and promoting lymphatic drainage. Dry brushing also helps to unclog pores as well as prevent ingrown hairs. Regular brushing stimulates your nervous system, leaving you feeling invigorated and smooth! Use morning or evening to gently buff away dead skin cells to help reveal soft and smooth skin.

Our Firming and Toning Lotion is packed with key essential oils, in a creamy texture that leaves skin nourished and smooth. The formula deeply hydrates to create a protective barrier, locking in moisture with no greasy residue. Here's to silky smooth skin all year long!

Cleansing Consistently is Key

Cleansing morning and night is one thing that doesn't need a re-vamp. “Skin’s natural cell turnover process creates debris on the upper layers which need to be removed before applying any other products, as this can affect the efficacy of future key ingredients penetrating the skin,” says Pfeffer. “Plus the mechanical action of cleansing also increases the blood flow and aids elimination of toxins, so don’t rush it.”

Whilst a lot of people are confused with what temperature is best for washing your face; cold to feel refreshed, or warm to open the pores, our Gentle Cleanser works best with warm water. Never use hot water as this can damage the skin - lukewarm is the best temperature for any creamy cleanser! This helps open up the pores and cleanse any dirt or grime that may have built up within your skin.

Central Heating

It may feel nice on those cold rainy days to whack the central heating up - which is fine! Just make sure to give your skin a substantial amount of hydration to avoid dryness. The contrasting exposure to your skin of central heating and harsh bracing winds can lead to unhappy skin. For that, hydration can help. “Hyaluronic acid is a key player,” says Pfeffer. “Its effects are often compared to turning a raisin into a grape when increasing water content.” Try applying this morning and night within your skincare routine to reduce flakiness.

We're sure we don't need to say it...but it's also vital to apply a good moisturiser to help maintain good hydration levels. For the face, our Collagen and Retinol Cream is super nourishing with added benefits! Our cream contains:

  • Collagen & Retinol which help smooth fine lines and wrinkles, plus enhance cellular turnover to strengthen skin.
  • Hyaluronic Acid which boosts skin hydration for an instant, radiant glow.
  • Vitamin E is a key antioxidant that eliminates free radicals. It is also an anti-inflammatory that calms and hydrates.

Top tip - Don't forget to apply an SPF every morning - yes, even in the autumn months.

Your Inside Needs Love Too

It is important to give your skin the necessary love it needs, both externally and internally! If your skin is becoming problematic i.e. more breakouts or dryness, more often than not you need to give some TLC to your gut health too.

The main supplements we would recommend for healthier skin are; Women's Pre & Pro Bio Complex, Hyaluronic Acid with Vitamin A, C, E and Salicin, Biotin with Coconut Oil and Vegan Collagen Formation Complex. We don't recommend you take all of these at once. Try one or two that match up with your skin's requirements and take them daily alongside a healthy diet - you should start seeing the benefits within a month or two!

Our upcoming release of our new and improved Vitamin C Serum this month is also a great way for your skin to instantly absorb some more of that ESSENTIAL Vitamin C for radiant-looking skin! Keep an eye out for when it launches.

That's a wrap, let's welcome in a fresh start the right way.
